I enjoyed the fantastic company culture at Hilti! Nearly all of the full-time employees I had the opportunity to work with were supportive and helpful. Hilti's intern program is also very well put together. It's evident that they place value on their interns and emphasize hiring interns full-time after graduation.

What I liked

The team did an incredible job adjusting to a virtual program! We were given multiple chances to speak with current employees and heard from many people who have been at Hilti for significant amounts of time. I could tell everyone genuinely loved talking to the interns and were passionate about their careers. I learned so much and was extremely impressed with the company as a whole.

What I liked

Hilti sent me to Portland for the summer and paid for flights, housing, and a rental car. They pay their interns very well. I had a lot of autonomy while working for them. They trusted me with very big responsibilities and really valued me as an employee.

What I wish was different

I could not have asked for anything better.

It was a little lonely, I was the only co-op in my location and I didn't have anyone else with me.

Advice

Make sure you are comfortable working on your own, other than that it was great!

What I liked

The culture at Hilti is amazing. Right from the start of the summer I felt like a trusted, full-time employee because I was treated that way. My summer with Hilti was all about what I wanted out of it, through self-guided projects and optional organization events. I had the chance to meet with so many different people throughout the company to learn more about their background and contributions to Hilti. The opportunities at this company are endless and the employees are there to help you reach your goals.

What I wish was different

I had a great experience and I don't wish that anything was different.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to keep an open mind about the industry. Hilti specializes in power tools, which doesn't always sound that glamorous to people. I went into this internship with no knowledge of the power tool or construction industry, and came out with a remarkable experience and a new found interest.
